Biography

My name is Chris Trentacosta, I am a Senior, Sport and Adventure Media Major, with an Emphasis in sport.

I am from a small town called Wanaque, in northern New Jersey. My entire life I have been a fan of sports and have participated in baseball, football, and basketball. Once I realized that my career as an athlete was coming to an end, I knew that I wanted to continue to be around sports for the rest of my life, and so I wanted to study a major that would allow for that.

Throughout school I have been a part of several classes that have allowed me to learn about the sports media field, as well as practice the skills that would be needed in a sports media career.

Throughout my years here, I have been an intern for the WVU Ice Hockey team, where I was an in-rink announcer. Here I announced lineups, goals, penalties, etc. I also did their stats and was in charge of the rink’s music.

To finish out my college career, I will be interning at the U92 radio station. Here I will be a board operator, and I may do some radio, myself.

In the future my main goal is to work in one of, but not limited to, the following fields.

  • Sports Journalism
  • Sports Broadcasting
  • Social Media for professional teams
